Can I suggest a Data Center in Ireland please?
Whilst Ireland would be nice, the UK location is surely close enough with a low enough latency (Haven't tested it yet, just about to)
A data center in Ireland would mainly be for piece of mind for our clients, to let them know their data is in Ireland. In terms on latency, London is responding very well from what I have seen so far.
We currently host in Dublin and UK, why you ask? Some of tech savvy customers (with large budgets) have asked do we have an irish presence, yes for us techies you might ask why when backbone pings are better to/from UK but it is a local Irish service feeling that some of customers use in their selection of SAAS providers. Would win us over to the DO side for sure.
Also, Irish IP space would be nice.
I have several clients in Ireland who aren't convinced by the fact the London data center will server them just as well as an Irish one and so they stay in Ireland, despite the awful service they receive. They have no end of complaints about all hosting companies in Ireland and there simply isn't one that's any good. DO is the answer!
Now with Brexit in the works, I would say an Irish DC would be even more welcome.
absolutely +1 on this.
The new centre of English-speaking Europe, please add an Irish datacenter. Thank you.
