Digital Ocean Mail Server

Hey Guys, Great service!.

I've just moved over from Web Faction to you and I am loving the service so far but I am missing one feature. A mail server. Web Faction ran a global mail server which all users could send and receive mail from. It was possible to add email addresses and mail boxes from the control panel and I think that this would be a great addition to DO. I wouldn't mind paying extra for it either.

Would this be something that would be considered?

    ya we don't mind to pay little more extra but to get all the services from one source, check the other mail services provider and make a competitive prices for us to subscribe.

    consider that DG.

    Regards

    It's rather trivial to set up your own mailserver. If that's too much hassle for you, I could offer you email services if you want. Just contact me at: office@42dev.eu

    Agreed. An application for "Mail Server" should exist that installs and configures the server, web mail and a web admin panel.

    @Florian Beer Not sure if you're just spamming. But mail servers are hard. Ars Technica wrote a 4-part guide and it was 15 pages long (about 400 paragraphs). I've not found an easy guide.

    I understand the DigitalOcean is kindof a "no thrills" service, and that's one of the reasons I like it. That being said, I really need a mail server! :)

    This DO service is totally useless. No outbound SMTP allowed. What a joke. I am not a spammer, I moved my email server to a DO instance. No outbound SMTP allowed. Moving back to AWS.

    * UPDATE *

    Quick update for anybody else that might be passing through with the same question.

    I now just pass everything through Mailgun.org. It works well and mitigates any issues with SMTP sending.
