India Datacenter

Internet usage in India is going to explode with RIL 4G launch. Just get your fielding ready to catch the ball.. RIL's 4G launch will bring the data prices (home users) crashing down and India being an extremely price sensitive market will add so many new users in the coming months which would mean more demand for hosting. I run a few websites which get lots of traffic from India and I am forced to host them at Europe and Singapore locations due to lack of reliable budget hosting within India.
I would love to see atleast 4 locations in India :) With good network connectivity to Pakistan, Bangladesh and Srilanka. Thats where the growth really is. You can bite each other here in Europe and USA but in South Asia every one is growing without having to capture higher market share.. That stage is at least 20 years away.

Be where the growth is :)

I agree. I am currently using Hostgator shared hosting and reluctant to switch to their VPS because of declining quality after EIG acquisition. Amazon has now CDN edge locations in India(which I am using), but I would love to host complete site on a reliable platform. India is indeed an upcoming big market and Google, GoDaddy, Amazon already has big projects and marketing setup in India.

I understand that Digital Ocean is aware of fact, I am just hoping that it happens soon.

At least a single location.....we love to use cheaper services and we are fed up of our existing hosting providers.....

We are very interested in providing service directly in India however we have been unable to find a great partner yet for the datacenter.

We are opening Signapore very shortly which should provide better connectivity for the Eastern part of India with much better latency than the current options of AMS or US.

It will be really exiting thing of having an indian Datacentre for digitalocean. Out of few indian host, i came accross netmagic (a big no) and bigrock. But there services are worst :-(

Also i would like to suggest Bhopal , Madhyapradesh as the datacentre location.

Yes it is surprisingly overlooked place, which actually can server the center Indian location to serve the Indian sub continent. The Government in this state is actually very interested and business friendly, they offers great deals , affordable lands, and most important Single window clearence for business formalities.

    Good Luck :-)

@Moisey Uretsky Try Tata Communications (AS6453), AFAIK they peer with every other leading provide worldwide.

Demand for a good, reliable and reasonably priced hosting/data-center provider in India is so high, I can almost guarantee you guys - if you open up shop here - most of your revenues and profits will shift here within 6 months.
