When I first signed up for DigitalOcean, Daily Backups were advertised, yet as of the past few months I've noticed the backups miss the daily run and instead run every other day, every 3-4 days, or every 5-6 days which leaves a huge gap. Since we have constantly changing data, the sometimes weekly backups is a cause for concern since quite a bit can change in that period of time, especially for those that use our servers for development.
Are there plans to solidify daily backups?
Why is this marked as Shipped?? You only offer weekly backups, not daily backups... It would be extremely important to have daily backups.

any plan for release this feature soon?

Absolutely, we're going to be doing quite a bit of refactoring of that code in the coming couple of weeks and working out a few bugs to improve the reliability of backups.

Hi, now that DO is going to charge for backups, will any changes be made to the backup "every few days" policy? Frankly, it doesn't inspire much confidence in the backup system if I don't even know exactly when the backups will occur. I greatly prefer Linode's multiple backup slots per day method.

Great news Moisey. Any word on this?
Irregular backups is my only complaint about the service!

I agree. This is important to me - especially if they are now being charged. Is there an ETA on when secure backups will be a possibility?

Last comment was back in May has there been any change?
This was a very disappointing change. Random backups is pretty useless in a lot of cases. Seems silly that when they were free they were nightly now that we have to pay they are anywhere from 3-5 days.
Thanks

Are backups indeed in the period once per 24 hours to 72 hours? Or has the upper limit slipped to a larger number?

It's odd because according to your features page (https://www.digitalocean.com/features), the "Full Backups and Snapshots" feature lets you "Automatically set your server to backup every night." Is the control panel setting for this somewhat deceiving, in the sense that although you can set it to backup every night it does not actually do so? Or is this an error on your features page?

Please update the status of this. It's very important to know when a backup will take place. In an age where using a CMS is the norm, a back up "every few days" is bad news since you can loose a lot of data. Nightly backups should be the norm, especially when paid.
Please update so i know if I need to use a different service for backups.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Right now, even the 3 day backup window seems to rarely get met. Each of my nodes has at one point or another gone a week or more without backups, seemingly without DO noticing it, which is troubling as hell.

Please!

I must agree with this. I'm currently paying you guys for backups -- but if it isn't a daily schedule then I'm not sure if it is worth paying for. Please put this on the TODO.

I agree with this post. To me this is very important - especially if they are now being charged. Is there a set date as to when secure backups will be a possibility? otherwise im going to have to take my business elsewhere!
Some guy on another forum suggested http://ceano.colt.net/.. anyone here used it before!?

I am wondering what the latest is here. my backups seems to have to fallen to every 5-6 days which is just not acceptable considering I am paying for backups

Daily backups are mandatory on the long run. Please don't ignore this request.

When we bought the package we assumed backups were daily. Instead, backups "once a while, when I feel I am in the mood". Now that's hilarious.

I've just setup a production server for deploying a custom application and was pretty dismayed to see backups running every 3-4 days on the server... any word on increasing the frequency, especially since the backups are a paid addition? If not there should probably be some verbiage somewhere indicating the backup frequency is not daily, which is what I'd assumed.
