Last night our master database went down, resulting in over an hour of downtime. The cause was Digital Ocean scheduled droplet backups.
After contacting support, they sent me an article stating these backups are not good high I/O applications, like a database. A warning would have been nice!
This was made more severe by the fact that we could not cancel the backup, or reboot the server for the duration of the backup.
The scheduled backups UI is very appealing and looks like it should "Just Work". Even a small warning would have prompted me to look into this in more detail before enabling.
Not sure how many other users have been affected by this, but it seems like an easy fix.
