Thanks for pointing us to that article. Definetly some food for thought in there. Though I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the fact that the VM on the laptop was given four times as much RAM and an addition CPU core compared to the Droplet. Point taken though.
There are many factors that can lead to an individual Droplet having lower performance than another, and to have a fair picture you would need to do benchmarks across our cloud. We regularly benchmark and monitor Droplet performance and continuing to improve on it is important for us.
