Thank you again for raising this feedback. We now offer scalable storage for our full complement of database engines, including MongoDB. You can read more about this here: https://www.digitalocean.com/blog/introducing-scalable-storage-for-managed-mongo-db If you have any issues using this, please reach out to our support team: https://cloudsupport.digitalocean.com/s/ Please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you achieve your goals!

Glad that this has been reopened as in my eyes it’s not “done” until all Managed Database services have this feature. At the time of writing this, MongoDB clusters do not have this feature.
Edit: I would like to also point out that Droplets no longer come with storage, yet their prices have stayed the same. So you are now forced into paying more money per month just to get at least HALF of the storage you were guaranteed to get in the original droplet price before this feature was introduced. This is terrible as a customer and I hope that is reconsidered.

Thank you so much for your feedback! Based on this, you can now add disc space to your PostgreSQL or MySQL databases without having to increase RAM or CPU. You can read more about this here: https://www.digitalocean.com/blog/introducing-digitalocean-scalable-storage
If you have any questions about this, please reach out to our support team: https://docs.digitalocean.com/support/ Again, thank you for taking the time to raise this issue with us and help us create a service that better fits your needs.

I really wish this feature so I can make the switch to managed database

We need much cheaper storage only increase like the Volumes that you have added on your dashboard. Why we cannot attached a Volume on a manage database? It would be very helpful, thanks.

I want to vote for this one also, we need storage without more resources

While adding more RAM can allow you to run more programs at one time, it will not increase the amount of space you have for installing new programs and downloading or saving files. To increase your disk space, you need a larger or additional hard drive.

Based on a cursory search, I could get a Postgres RDS instance with 250GB storage, 2 vCPU, 4GB memory for ~$80/month, but I'd have to spend $560/month to get that amount of storage on Digitalocean, and I'd end up with a ton of resources I don't need. The price difference on the database alone probably negates any money I would save from using Droplets over EC2 or Lightsail.
I don't know about everyone else, but I prefer Digitalocean over AWS because of it's UI/UX, predictable pricing, and because it's generally cheaper than AWS. #3 is unfortunately (as it often is) the most important of those reasons.
