This is really a must have function for the app platform. Is there any ETA when this will be available?

You asked, we listened. Autoscaling for App Platform is live.
Thank you so much for taking the time to give us feedback on App Platform via the ideas portal. We're happy to announce that we've released Autoscaling for dedicated IPs. We're excited to announce this new feature that will help you optimize your application's performance and cost-efficiency. You can learn more about the feature in this blog post CPU-based autoscaling for dedicated instances.
This feature allows you to automatically scale your application components horizontally based on CPU utilization metrics. You can configure autoscaling using either the user interface or via appspec.
CPU-based autoscaling works as follows:
- Metric collection: App Platform periodically collects CPU usage metrics from the containers running your application components.
- Threshold monitoring: The autoscaling system compares the average CPU utilization across all containers for a given component against your configured CPU threshold.
- Automatic scaling: When the average CPU usage exceeds or falls below the configured threshold, App Platform automatically scales your component by adding or removing container instances, respectively. The number of instances will always stay within the configured minimum and maximum range.
For more information on configuring autoscaling, please refer to the Autoscaling Documentation.
We're thrilled to bring you this powerful new feature and can't wait to see how you utilize it to improve your applications. If you have any questions or feedback, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team (https://cloudsupport.digitalocean.com/s/)
Happy scaling!

I'm disappointed that 2 years since the original post this hasn't been added. This would be such a great feature! And it seems like the foundation is already in place. I can get alerts when CPU or Memory are beyond a certain threshold, I can add a new container (scale horizontally) via CLI or API calls, but I can't link the two and monitor CPU/Memory and then add a new container? Any updates would be appreciated.

Anyone managed to get this working via any other ways?

Any update on an ETA of this feature?

Would be a game changer! Can't move to DO App Platform without it and VPC support!

just add http post request in "notification methods", so for any alert type we can send custom payload to github actions

This will totally change the game for most strap-ups, please provide update.
