This is really unprofessional from DO. We can't use really outdated versions of Node because you can't update the buildpack you don't even develop by yourself. Just update your servers and give us a normal service please. Why do other buildpacks gets updated but never the Node one ?

please, resolve it

Node.js versions supported by DigitalOcean App Platform are very outdated. Your customers are asking you to add support for version 18 which is LTS (= long-term support), meaning it is an old stable version recommended for production usage. There have already been newer versions such as 19 and 20 released.
Once you start looking into this issue, I would recommend you to add support for both Node.js 18 and 20 because version 20 will become the next LTS version in a few months. Otherwise, this will be a never-ending story if you always add support for an active LTS version just before it goes to a maintenance mode. See the Node.js Releases page for more details: https://nodejs.dev/en/about/releases/

I want to pay money to use the app platform but you don't support Node 18 so I have to look elsewhere. Just deleted my app after finding out it's not supported

+1, also node v16 is set to reach end of life in September, so it’s pretty undesirable to be pushing new v16 apps to prod right now.
DO should be supporting node v18 ASAP, so folks have time to upgrade before the EOL later this year.
