Until a few days ago, DO’s Billing Overview page updated the “Spaces Bandwidth” section every day to show how much bandwidth had been used since the start of the billing cycle. This feature had been in place for at least two years, and I’ve been relying on it to observe how much data is downloaded over time.
But starting a few days ago, the how-much-bandwidth-has-been-used line stopped updating. (It’s frozen at the amount that it was showing a few days ago, which is very misleading.) I filed a support ticket, and was informed that this is now working as intended, and that due to a “new update,” bandwidth usage wouldn’t be updated until the end of the billing cycle.
The support person suggested that I could post a feature request here. So my feature request is: Please reinstate the daily updates of bandwidth usage.
(I’m talking about the line on the Billing Overview page that says (for example) “Spaces Bandwidth Allowance - direct (803.12GiB @ $0/GiB)”.)
But if you’re not going to reinstate that feature, then please consider this to be a bug report about the existing line. It doesn’t indicate that you’ve stopped updating it; instead, it just shows the amount that it was showing a few days ago. That’s extremely misleading, and getting more so with each day that passes. So if you won’t reinstate the way that it used to work, then please remove the “Spaces Bandwidth Allowance” line from the Billing Overview page, to reduce user confusion.
