transfer droplet ownership
i would like to be able to transfer a droplet as is (completely with IP address and RUNNING) from an account to another. this has nothing to do with droplet properties and it should be a simple change in database (for droplet_id change owner_id from user_X to user_Y or something like this). from the interface point of view, it can be handled in a similar way with snapshot transfer, with one user offering and another user accepting the transfer this is useful for billing purposes.
Billing email without account verification
Being able to send an email to an account that won't be able to complete registration would be great. Example: Companies that use Divvy. I'd like to be able to send invoices to the automated handler divvy email address, but they won't be able to register an account with DO to be added as a billing member, or maybe any other third-party service for invoice handling.
Pause Droplet Beyond Set Billing Alert
At the moment DO doesn't have the option to freeze or pause an instance if the usage goes beyond a set monthly limit which causes an increased cost. I would love to have an option where I can set my monthly billing limit and as soon as my monthly bill hits that I receive a notification and the instance is paused immediately so I can approve if the use was by me legitimately or it was a malicious attack on my instance. It will help with keeping the billing cost in limits and protect against edge cases where malicious users decide to spam the API.
Set Billing Cap
Please can we introduce a billing cap. No matter how secure your setup something could go wrong and someone could quickly rack up a massive bill, on your account. I think there should be a billing cap option and then also alerts based on this cap. So say you can set it to alert you at x% and then y% of the cap. Currently there is option to set one alert but thats not really good enough.
Cost estimation API
You provide an API with prices of VMs (droplets): https://docs.digitalocean.com/reference/api/api-reference/#tag/Sizes and would be great to have something similar for all resources: volumes, load balancers, snapshots, ... and other
Provide Billing Details in the API
In order to fairly share actual cost with partners, it would be very helpful to provide the billing details currently available as a PDF in the API. Alternatively have it downloadable in a more machine readable format from the web site. The reason is that the cost for droplets run only for a couple of hours should be charged to the partner using that droplet (based on internal logging) and not be split equally.
Billing per project
Now that projects are available, can we have the option to be billed to a separate credit card if we want? That way I don't have to have multiple Digital Ocean accounts.
Switch to Per Minute Billing
Sometimes you need to spin up a couple servers to handle the load for about 20-40 minutes. It is understandable that you are billed to the next hour, but I thought I'd throw this out there. Several other cloud providers, primarily "Google Cloud," is now providing per minute billing. With competitive pricing, this is somewhat compelling. My request is that digital ocean re-evaluates whether or not they would like to support this billing feature. I would even understand if droplets cost slightly more if you are not enabled on hourly billing. Thank you for your time.
NPWP for Indonesian VAT
Digitalocean is currently collecting VAT 11% for Indonesia. However, I cannot find a way to put in my NPWP (Tax ID) so that I can use the Tax Invoice for my internal accounting. Why is that? In Amazon, Google etc, there is an option for Customer to put in their NPWP Tax ID.
Bitcoin Payment Method
Bitcoin is a Peer to Peer digital currency with worldwide implications. Its value is changing rapidly just like oil did during its early days of adoption. That aside, it is a new technology and is beginning to be widely used. One of the largest internet company's in China started accepting them, WordPress accepts them and many more are starting to accept them every day. I don't want to see Digital Ocean lose out on this technology. I suggest you take a good hard look in the adoption of this new payment system.
