At the moment DO doesn't have the option to freeze or pause an instance if the usage goes beyond a set monthly limit which causes an increased cost. I would love to have an option where I can set my monthly billing limit and as soon as my monthly bill hits that I receive a notification and the instance is paused immediately so I can approve if the use was by me legitimately or it was a malicious attack on my instance. It will help with keeping the billing cost in limits and protect

against edge cases where malicious users decide to spam the API.
