The new DNS manager looks nice, but one feature that's missing is the ability to have the Digital Ocean servers serve as slave DNS servers performing zone transfers (AXFR/IXFR) from our droplets. Other hosts provide this, which reduces the DNS load on droplets.

Configurable SOA Records for DNS to change email address.

The current DNS page shows all domains and the available actions. To check if a domain is done propagating, or which DNS the domain uses or which CNAME is set, you have to go to each domains. If you have more than 10 ... this can be anoying. Here's what I suggest: 1) Add a "view info" that can shows the information, 2) The inforation shown can be the ns records, cname, etc... 3) and if a domain is not propagated yet, you can see a message like: Zone File - DNS is propagating View image: https://i.imgur.com/UZVSCk4.png Thanks,

GEO DNS + Multiple droplets.. is more than AWESOME setup..!! I'd love to see this service soon in DO, where you can create several droplets in several data centers and point your DNS zones toward these droplet. Visitors from NY for example get served by NY Droplet(s), Visitors from AMS get served by AMS Droplet(s). This way, you can build your own CDN within few moments, and get your websites performance-extra-charged. Your Votes, comments ?!

Current situation: If I enter my root domain into the "hostname" field I'm only allowed to create entries such as A, AAAAA, MX etc. but not CNAME. Wanted situation: I can create a CNAME entry with my root domain and this will be flattened automatically, like Cloudflare does ( https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/200169056-CNAME-Flattening-RFC-compliant-support-for-CNAME-at-the-root )

Currently the DNS editor doesn't provide any means of reordering the records. There was a feature request to sort the records by name instead of creation date but it was declined. It would be great if records could be reordered for organizational purposes. As it stands now, I have to read through the long list until I find the record I wish to edit.

I would like to see an implemention to support DNS CAA in DOs DNS controllpanel. DNS Certification Authority Authorization (CAA) uses the Internet's Domain Name System to specify which certificate authorities may be regarded as authoritative for a domain. This is intended to support additional cross-checking at the client end of TLS connections to attempt to prevent certificates issued by CAs other than the specified CAs from being used to spoof the identity of websites or perform man-in-the-middle attacks on them. If we would run a certain CA on our websites, we can specify that in our DNS settings and the security is enhanced for our website when it comes to possible MitM. Thanks!
