At the moment automatic backups are taken 'every few days' (I can't find how many days exactly, but I know it's way too many). I was having the following idea: Users pay 1$ per month to enable automatic backups Depending on their plan, they have a few slots available (you'll unlock additional slots by upgrading to a better plan) You can choose your own interval (twice a day, once a day, once a week) If you run out of slots, the oldest backup will be destroyed automatically to make space for a new backup This way everyone can choose their own interval but everyone will get and pay the same.

Currently the is no way to perform backups of data stored at attached Storage Volumes. It would be great if it was possible.

Options to set how long to keep backups or how many to keep would be nice or at the very least an option to select multiple backups to delete that way it would be easier to clean up older backups.

As part of a disaster recovery plan this would be a nice feature to have to ensure that backups are secured at another data center either within Digital Ocean, or externally. If there is an issue with storing it externally it could be encrypted by DO as long as there is a way for the customer to obtain the encryption key say in some really horrible circumcstance.

As part of a disaster recovery plan it would be nice to allow backups to be moved to another data center. I know this can be done by converting it into a snapshot and moving it, however, it would be nice to "skip" that step.

There is nothing in the dashboard that says a backup is running. If we had known this we wouldn't have powered off our droplet because now we can't power it on (which is complete crap that a backup does this)

I don't see there is any compression here, the environment(files) and the system all exactly same as Vultr(maybe vultr even more file but the system totaly same). Vultr turns 11GB to 3GB, but you snapshot 7GB to 7GB, just like a simple file copy. what kind of compression is this?(even the time for create snapshot takes same time....) We hope we could save more mony, I think people all like it.

I believe it may be of use to some of your clients to have the ability to change the frequency of back ups. Some sites may be updated monthly, therefore having four backups all identical. However adding in a toggle which will allow you to choose between: Daily Backups ~ Will take a backup everyday and will retain 7 versions before overwriting the oldest. Weekly Backups ~ Will take a backup every Friday night (could even make the day optional - I chose Friday as it is daft to make big changes before a weekend and will likely be making big updates on the Monday), it would retain two months worth or 8 backups before overwriting the oldest. Monthly Backups ~ Will take a backup on the last day of each month (again could be optional to any day of the month), and would retain 6 months worth of backups before overwriting the oldest. This would have saved me twice already in my career from mistakes that are beyond my control as a developer. However, it still appears bad on my part due to websites being my job. Food for thought, will be interesting to see this setting get developed and how you tackle it. Best of luck, thanks for listening, Jason.

I would like for my snapshots and backups to be safe from accidental deletion, either ask to enter name when deleting or allow us to download them for on premises storage

There should be option to automatically power on droplet after snapshot creation. Sometimes it takes half an hour to create snapshot, so it would be nice, if DigitalOcean do it automatically for us.
