App Platform

Logs can only be exported to a limited number of platforms. Adding an option for open telemetry exporter would increase this number significantly and unburden Digital Ocean, because it is on the vendors to implement the API and not on Digital Ocean to integrate with each vendor, especially for log exporting where there are unlikely to be any vendor specific enhancements that could be taken advantage of.

We should be able to disable the starter domain in App Platform or create a 301 redirect to a custom domain. With this not being an option static sites are always duplicated, which is a terrible SEO practice. At the very least it would be nice being able to set a robots.txt file in the starter domain to prevent search engines from indexing it.

We are looking for sending scheduled updates to the users of the application. We are doing I in others platform providers by using configuring CRON jobs. This is a sort of missing feature in App Platform. looking forward to be available soon.

Go 1.24 brings a lot of nice features, and currently if you use app platform, you can only use go versions up to 1.23. I believe the underlying heroku build pack supports 1.24. This restriction is a non negotiable for me and as such I will have to switch to another provider if I can’t use go 1.24.

It would be great if we could use cloud firewalls to control access to deployed applications using App Platform. I've got some private applications that I would deploy using your PaaS offering immediately if I could firewall it off.

For example, a Django app can run on the apex domain, a web service on 'api.', and a static wiki on 'docs.'

I love the App Platform but the 2gb disk limit makes it almost unusable for any project that allows users to upload large files, like videos. Even with pre-signed URLs so uploads go directly to object storage, we sometimes need to pull files to do analysis on them and if they're over 2gb our app crashes. It would be amazing to have any way to handle this, whether its simply an increase of the default (8gb seems reasonable), or volume-support, or even a premium paid-for feature. We've considered adding a droplet but then needing to manage that sort of defeats the purpose of the App Platform in the first place...

In case one DO team have two DO projects and DO team decides to split in to two teams, would be nice to have a feature to migrate DO project related resource to a different DO teams.

At the moment we can deploy only branches. It would be very useful to deploy tags or commits

I'd like to use multiple domains in one app and point them to different services. Currently, it's only possible to route URL paths to services but that's quite limiting in some regards.
